PPU (Personal Project Update)

Amazing how fast a week can roll around...  "Check her pulse; is she still with us?  I thought that to-do list was going to crush her!"

The latest in the greening of Hoosier Courts:

I met with Steve Waldrip, a supervisor in the Physical Plant, and he arranged to have all the school's recycling picked up, beginning immediately!  This is a great help to the school, as it was previously requiring a lot of effort from multiple volunteers.  It will also help to conserve fuel since the Physical Plant is already working on the building regularly.

I attended the Hoosier Courts Advisory Board meeting in an effort to partner with them on making sustainability a project for the board for this school semester.  They are very excited about the possibilities, and we are figuring out ways to share elements  of this project- they're a great group to team up with!!

I am working with Lee Walters to get energy and water usage info to be able to analyze trends.  He has been super busy with the Energy Challenge the past few weeks, but should have the start of the info to me this week.

I need to follow up on the composter; I have heard no response from the folks in Biology.

The commercial dishwasher is still in progress, as is the purchase of the reusable dishes, etc.

The school would like to apply to become an IDEM 5-start school; I'm looking into it.

More soon; busy busy!

  2. This is a wonderful story, Amy! I was worried you had bitten off more than you could chew. Great to see you pulling in others to collaborate. I can't wait to read the final chapter!
